Aimed at: KS1, KS2 and Adults. Workshops are designed for around 30 children who will work together in groups of up to five.
Turn your school hall or larger classroom into a practical cooking and learning environment! These immersive and hands-on food workshops encourage children to develop an interest and understanding of healthy and nutritious meals. By constructing, from scratch, a balanced dish in small groups. Pupils will apply their skills to determine what makes a healthy, nutritious meal, learn how to actually prepare the food and apply the principles of good food safety and hygiene.
FITNESS AND FOOD WORKSHOP
Aimed at: Foundation, Reception, KS1 and Pre-prep Pupils
An educational set of pupil engaging and (more importantly) fun filled, fully interactive workshops delivered in the school hall. The workshops focus on simple but effective physical activity sessions to convey healthy eating messages to pupils ensuring the learning is embedded through its association with fun and fitness. The workshops include the importance of healthy breakfasts and school meals to raise concentration levels. The 'eat well' plate is fully adaptable to suit the children's age range.
COOKING FOR SURVIVAL
Aimed at: Parents, Sixth Formers and College Students (Teachers included)
An interactive group session aimed at training parents, school leavers, and sixth formers to survive the challenges of adapting to cooking in changed circumstances after embarking on a post school/college life. These sessions actively demonstrate life skills, simple ways of cooking on a budget, building confidence in cooking whilst at the same time delivering healthy eating and nutritional messages. Students will leave with sample recipes.
COOKING CHALLENGE
Aimed at: KS2 through to Adult Education
Creating a competitive challenge by using entertaining large group sessions blending audience participation, team work and healthy eating. Key messages involve pupils/students in constructing a healthy and balanced, but simple, meal ‘on stage’ in an assembly hall or drama studio. Ideal for large groups (such as entire year groups or even whole schools) it not only teaches students valuable cooking techniques and skills but also the values of food types to the body in a competitive, fun, engaging and enthusiastic way.
