To see all the children so excited and engaged about nutrition was amazing!

I saw this event from both the perspective of a teaching assistant and a parent and was so impressed! Darren made food fun, nutrition relevant, and taste the be all and end all. My 5 year old daughter loved the fitness and food facts and even though I consider myself a competent cook I also learnt some great new tricks and ideas. I will definitely use the recipes given and also let my daughter help more as I’ve seen how hands on experience builds such confidence in even the most shy personality. Thank you Darren, great job!

One of our teachers came to see me and told me that your 'Roots to Food' workshops yesterday were the best thing that had happened in the school for a long time. She said that it was brilliant and your presentation was a breath of fresh air in the way you taught the children about nutrition and healthy food. The children really enjoyed the day and were amazed by the speed in which a very appetizing fish dish could be cooked so quickly. I was so disappointed to miss the day but delighted to hear that there will be an opportunity for you to return next year with another workshop. I hope to get back to you very quickly to reserve a date. Thank you for sending me the recipes which I will forward to all our staff and put them in our newsletter this week.

I am very grateful that you were able to come to visit us yesterday and teach us all so much about healthy eating. Nutrition and cooking are life skills which several teachers felt we need to devote more time to.

I have had some lovely feedback from the children about the 'cook off' on Friday12th January, they were all so enthused and they are already trying out the recipes! They also (you will be pleased to know), agree that we have some way to go to try and understand the subject of fish a little better!

I have had excellent feedback regarding the day and would welcome the opportunity to arrange a return visit in the future We are keen to enhance our engagement with parents in respect of the healthy options we provide during lunch service and knowledge and understanding of healthy choices.

All four classes and their adults have given great feedback. One lad in Y6 cooked the meal for his mum last night! I have passed the recipe to my colleagues and wish to thank you once again for coming in and organising this brilliant day.
