On Monday I was spoilt with such a well organised, special and very tasty evening! My year 6 child told me Darren was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend other schools do this as it was very well organised and so fun for them!. I wish I could eat the soup again with that lovely roll. Yum yum!

Can't believe how quickly the year came round for our Roots to Food visit. Our current year 2 children were so excited to see Darren. They had remembered so much from the previous year's experience. Our Year 1 children were overjoyed with the cooking session and I have to say there were clean plates all round after the tasting. Darren runs the session effectively and safely. The children feel like real chefs! We're even putting the recipe 'Pesto Chicken pasta' on the menu for lunchtime. Booked in for next year already and we can't wait!

It was one of the best workshops I’ve seen! Excellent use of vocab for young children reminding them each time of the key words, recapping and explicitly using them in context as much as possible. Superbly organised which meant it was pacey, everyone got to have a go at everything and children stayed focused. It was extremely well planned, by the adults trying the food first it built anticipation to ensure the children were excited to try the food and this helped those who were reluctant. Darren had high expectations for listening and attention which ensured high levels of engagement. Each task was modelled practically with lots of information around safety in a child friendly way.

A big thank you for all your hard work during your visit in school. The children really enjoyed the experience and the teachers have been singing your praises. Everything ran smoothly and efficiently, and all teaching objectives were covered and that is a great reflection on you and your team. Please can we book you again for next year?

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to Darren and TCS for an amazing day and evening yesterday! The children had a brilliant day learning how to prepare for a 3 course meal from start to finish in a restaurant scenario – they were truly incredible. A lovely evening was had by all! Darren you were phenomenal as always! We have no idea how on earth you organise cooking a 3 course meal with Y6 and our very limited facilities! You are fantastic with the children teaching them in groups throughout the day preparing the food and directing them in the evening with their roles.
